Extended Practice Opening Hours!

On Mondays and Thursdays the practice will stay open later for prebooked appoints, with the last appointment at 7.30pm.

The practice is also open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday in the month for prebooked appointments with the first appointment at 8.00am and the last starting at 9.30am.

Urgent requests for a doctor after 6.30pm or on Saturdays should be directed to the Out of Hours service which can be contacted by selecting Option 1 when you telephone the practice.

Sarratt Surgery

The Sarratt surgery is open from 8am to midday, Monday to Friday.

Appointments

Half of appointments are kept free for booking the same day, or on the afternoon of the preceding working day. The idea is that there will be enough free appointments every day to make pre-booking unnecessary and we hope that you will have the confidence to book a doctor’s appointment on the day you need it.

The remaining appointments are bookable up to 5 weeks in advance.

Medically urgent cases will always be seen the same day. Surgeries are held from 8.30am every morning Monday to Friday and an evening surgery is also held daily on every weekday. Please phone the afternoon before for a morning appointment the next day, or in the morning for an appointment later the same day. You can also book appointments on-line once you’ve obtained a password from reception.

Later appointments are available with a doctor on Mondays and Thursdays from 6.30 to 8pm. Appoinments are also available on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays in the month. These are designed to make it easier for people who are at work all day to have a routine doctor's consultation - they are by appointment only and may be booked up to five weeks in advance. If you are free to see the doctor during office hours, please leave the evening and Saturday appointments for those who really need them!

Telephone Advice

You are welcome to book a ‘telephone consultation’ with the doctor or nurse.

Patients are generally seen at the surgery, but between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm patients may be seen at home if the doctor considers a home visit necessary because of the patient’s medical condition.

Please call the surgery as soon as possible if you believe a home visit to be necessary.

Visits may be carried out by the most appropriate member of the practice team.
